Connect via wireless and cable lan simultaneously.

Have you ever faced a situation in which you want to use both cable LAN and wireless LAN.Let me give an example which will clear the picture.

Suppose you have several laptops and you want to use internet in all of them. However you have a cable modem, so at one time you can only connect to a single laptop via cable lan.Now if you want to use internet on other laptop , how to do it ?

It is very simple.

1) Connect your laptop with cable modem. Now net is working on this laptop.

2) Goto LAN properties(Local Area Connection Properties).Select Advanced TAB and check “Allow other network users to connect…”

Local Area Connection Properties

A message will be displayed stating that the IP will be changed to 192.168.0.1 . Select OK and make sure that you are not using this IP in other system.

Shared Network ConnectionsA hand will appear in the LAN connection icon showing that its a shared connection.

3) Now create a wireless network and give it some name.Confihure Wireless Network.Manually give some IP to it.Connect other laptop to this wireless network. You might need to turn off firewall in all the laptops need to connect to the adhoc wireless network.

4) Manually give some IP in all the laptops wireless network and give the Laptop IP in which cable lan is connected as default gateway and preferred DNS Server.

That’s it.

Now you can enjoy Internet on all the laptops.
