Recently so many Friends were asking me about Recovery Disk Creation, how to create Recovery Disk for Laptops, How to create Recovery Disk for Windows7 , how to create a Recovery Drive etc. So I thought of sharing a very easy methd of creating a Recovery Disk for Laptops.Recovery Disk can be considered as a backup used to restore factory settings. i.e. via Recovery Disk we can switch our Laptops to original state.I will be sharing example of How to create Recovery Disk for HP Laptops.I guess it is somewhat similar in other Laptops too.

Now to start with creation of Recovery Disk on Laptops using Windows7 or other Windows, goto Start Menu and search for Recovery Manager. Select the option available like ‘Recovery Media Creation’.Once the option is selected it will split the Recovery Disk Image. It will take around 15 minutes for this process. After this you can either make a backup on DVD’s or USB. I prefer DVD’s.Select the DVD option and click next.It will ask you to insert first DVD.The point to check here is if you are using Windows7 then the Recovery Disk size will be around 18GB.

So if you are using DVD’s of 4.7 GB size for your backup make sure you are atleast 5 DVD’s for the process. The time for writing data into one DVD will be around 20 minutes and 10 minutes after that for verification of data.So it will take around 30 minutes per DVD but fifth one which will comparatively take less time. After all the five DVD’s are done, you are ready with your backup. However make sure that you keep all these DVD’s properly and safely as Recovery Manager let’s you create Recovery Disk only once.

Incase of any query or suggestions , do share it.If you know any other method for creating Recovery Disk do share it.
