What can be regarded as world’s most unusual protest in the world , people in Hubli actually performed the obituary of a tree that was axed for “obstructing electric cables”.They actually put up a board which states something like “Residents had taken much care to raise the tree to a height of 15 feet by watering and protecting it from stray cattle. Why it is reduced to 4 foot stump ? It used to provide shade to passerby.” The board also states something like “I sincerely request to at least safeguard my brothers and sisters living on the road and who have been contributing to greenery of the city”

I feel this is one of the most unusual protest I have seen so far.The protest is peaceful and does make a strong statement. This can be regarded as the perfect example of people coming forward for saving environment. The protest has definitely gain some attention from local citizens and questions have been asked from local authority regarding cutting down of trees. If the tree was creating problem for cables , its branches could have been trimmed. Why the whole tree was cut down to 4 foot stump ? Volkswagen came up with one of the best advertisements strategy I have seen recently. If you have read today’s Times Of India newspaper, you might have observed it by now.At the last page there is a full page advertisement of Volkswagen new car Vento. As soon as you open the page ,you can hear the audio of Volkswagen Vento ,Crafted with so much passion, it’s hard to let it go.Volkswagen.Das Auto.A very nice way of advertisement where an audio can catch an immediate attention while turning pages.
Seriously we don’t expect an audio clip to be played while reading our newspaper. It is all reading reading and reading. However the notion of letting an audio play is nice creative idea.It immediately gets all the attention and one thing for sure, people will remember the name Volkswagen Vento. LIC meal scheme can be considered as one of the most strange decision taken by LIC(Life Insurance Company) India. As per the meal scheme , LIC employees across India ,who will come on time will receive food coupons ranging between INR 1000 to INR 4000 along with their monthly salary.Punctuality has always been an important quality required in any profession and if any employee found not complying with company punctuality policy should be penalized. However LIC India has taken an aberrant decision of rewarding its employee who come on time.Actually LIC India has decided to reward it employee by giving meal coupons ranging between INR50 to INR200 per day to employees who come on time i.e. by 10am and there is 10 minutes grace period too. ![]()
In a simple way we can say that LIC is going to spend INR 336 crore per year.We come to this figure assuming INR 2000/month * 12 months * 1.4 Lac employees. i.e. INR336 crore of our money which we pay as tax.
What do you think about this decision of LIC ? Do you think this decision will encourage employees to come on time ? Encouraging student to come to school by luring them by free lunch is completely different than luring employees to come to office on time. Continue reading | 16 Comments

This date has been designated by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 49/114, to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. The main motive of celebrating this day is to spread awareness regarding importance of Ozone Layer and measures should be taken in order to prevent Ozone layer from depletion.
